Scott Growney joined SRI in September 2006 as General Counsel and brings extensive legal and transactional expertise to the company.
Before joining SRI, Mr. Growney served as Associate General Counsel at Crozer-Keystone Health System, where he was responsible for, among other things, system real estate-related matters, including the acquisition and development of Crozer-Chester Medical Center’s North Campus and the Crozer Medical Plaza at Brinton Lake, a 64,000 square foot ambulatory care facility. Mr. Growney also practiced corporate, real estate and healthcare law in his capacity as Senior Counsel to Jefferson Health System, a $2 billion integrated delivery system consisting of 15 hospitals, physician networks, home health agencies and ancillary providers. While at JHS, Mr. Growney was responsible for providing guidance on a wide variety of matters, including System formation and growth, strategic affiliations, the merger of Main Line Health’s three acute care hospitals and the consolidation of their respective medical staffs, the financing and development of numerous ambulatory care facilities in the Philadelphia region, the acquisition of the real estate comprising Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, the sale-leaseback and redevelopment of the former Federal Reserve Bank building for use by the Rothman Institute, the System’s $700 million tax-exempt bond financing facility, complex regulatory/compliance matters and the design and implementation of the System’s compliance program. He previously served as Associate University Counsel at Hahnemann University Medical Center, a 610-bed academic medical and research institution.
Mr. Growney began his legal career in private practice as an associate at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius, where, as a member of ML&B’s Business and Finance Section, he structured, negotiated and documented commercial loan transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and counseled clients in connection with real estate financing and development. Mr. Growney has a B.A. (with Honors) from Trinity College and received his J.D. from Villanova University School of Law.
