Joseph T. Corcoran began his career in 1983, serving 11 years at the global real estate firm Cushman & Wakefield. He specialized in leasing and brokerage, and quickly became one of Cushman & Wakefield’s top producers.
In 1995, he moved on to found Preferred Real Estate Advisors Inc., a joint venture with Preferred Real Estate Investments Inc. (“PREI”), and managed all aspects of marketing, leasing, and tenant retention programs for PREI’s Mid-Atlantic portfolio. During Mr. Corcoran’s tenure, that portfolio quadrupled to 8 million sq. ft. of office and industrial space. Mr. Corcoran remains a partner in more than 20 Preferred Real Estate Investment properties totaling over 4 million sq. ft.
Mr. Corcoran founded Strategic Realty Investments in 2001, with the mission of developing properties that benefit tenants, beautify neighborhoods, and bolster communities in the Mid-Atlantic region. As President of Strategic Realty, he is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the company's operations including capital investment, acquisitions, development and strategic planning.
